On 21 March 2011, HOCHTIEF Polska, as one of the signatories of the "Declaration on the Agreement on Safety in Construction Industry" signed two documents developed under the existing works for the improvement of occupational safety on construction sites:

- Standard of the minimum requirements for subcontractors – contractual arrangements,
- Standard of the minimum requirements for subcontractors – training and additional qualifications.

The former determines the co-operation of the general contractor with the subcontractor to the extent of occupational safety and the latter describes in detail the standards of OH&S training.
Before the two documents were signed, a meeting was held in the President’s Chancellery of Minister Olgierd Dziekoński and the signatory companies, the President of the “Budowlani” Trade Union, the President of the Polish Union of Construction Engineers and Technicians and the Chief Labour Inspector. http://www.prezydent.pl/aktualnosci/dzialalnosc-kancelarii/art,814,firmy-budowlane-na-rzecz-bezpieczenstwa-pracy.html

The documents defining the minimum requirements for subcontractors are the result of the works performed by the signatory companies under the “Agreement” signed in August 2010. The actions taken under the “Agreement” are aimed at enhancing the occupational safety culture on construction sites, reducing the number of occupational accidents, including, first and foremost, fatal accidents. The “Agreement” is executed in close co-operation with the National Labour Inspectorate.

Among its signatories, there are also Bilfinger Berger, Budimex, Mostostal Warszawa, Polimex Mostostal, Skanska, Warbud and the Polish Union of Construction Engineers and Technicians (PZITB). PZITB is also the initiator of the “Agreement”. The “Agreement” assumes that the subsequent entities will join the program under execution.

Apart from the activities taken under the “Agreement", HOCHTIEF Polska is also a partner as part of the campaign “Occupational Safety in the Construction Industry – Falls, Slips” conducted under the motto “Respect Life! Safe working at height”. The campaign is organized by the National Labour Inspectorate and the Social Insurance Institution.
