The Cracow Branch of HOCHTIEF Polska was contracted by the Jagiellonian University in Cracow to design and build a new building for its Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science. The facility shall be built at the University’s 600 Years Restoration Campus, which is located in Cracow. The net value of this project is PLN 126,999,591.24 (gross value: PLN 154,939,501.20).

The new Faculty building shall consist of nine segments connected with indoor passageways. It will occupy an area exceeding 26,000 square metres and house teaching facilities, lecture rooms, a library, scientific labs, computer rooms and offices. The project will be launched in September 2010 and its completion is scheduled for spring 2014. The first eight months will be consumed by design work.

The Jagiellonian University’s order is by no means the first such project commissioned by the education sector to the Cracow Branch of HOCHTIEF Polska. In period 2003 – 2008 the Branch delivered three stages of the Campus of the Academy of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski in Cracow.
