After 13 months of construction works, a symbolic ceremony ended the completion of the raw state of building in the first phase of construction of the Sokratesa Park housing estate. The project in the Bielany district of Warsaw is being carried out by HOCHTIEF Polska Branch in Warsaw for the company Sokratesa Development. In the first phase of the estate construction at 13 Sokratesa Street, two blocks of 297 flats are being built. Also, a one-storey underground car park with 274 spaces and one ground level car park with 24 spaces are being constructed. One and three-roomed flats from 37 to 80 square meters with balconies of 3.69 to approx. 33 square meters, and four-roomed apartments from 94 to 117 square meters with large terraces (of approx. 10 to approx. 100 square meters) on the roofs will be built in two nine-storey buildings (ground floor, six regular floors, and two landmark floors). People who live on the ground floor will have gardens of around eight to approx. 80 square meters at their disposal. Construction work is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2012. The housing estate in total will consist of around 600 flats and some commercial offices in the future. The design of the housing estate includes plans for the construction of a three building complex of fascinating architecture with apartments located on the seventh and eighth floors. Carefully designed traffic routes, elements of landscape architecture, green lands, and a playground supplement the whole estate. The chief assets of the investment are the location in the immediate vicinity of Młociny underground station, a forest and recreational lands.

‘Reinforced concrete works were finished some months ago, but because of the wish to hold the event in the open air with the future residents’ participation, the date of the event was rescheduled for late spring. At present, finishing and installation works are well under way. Also, the majority of the windows are installed, and elevation works are in progress. Works completion is some weeks ahead of schedule. Also, demolition works have been finished and at the same time we have prepared the ground for the second phase of the estate completion which we are going to start this year’ said Witold Czajka, Area Manager in HOCHTIEF Polska Branch in Warsaw.
