HOCHTIEF Polska has completed his term as president of the Agreement for Safety in Construction – an initiative associating leading construction companies in Poland. It was a period of intensive industry cooperation and activities aimed at real improvement of occupational safety standards in the construction sector.

During our term of office, we developed a new direction for the Agreement’s activities. A new mission and Activity Programme 2024–2030 have been adopted, which sets out the further development of the initiative – from the role of the investor in the construction process, through the development of good practices and standards, to education and cooperation with public institutions.

We put special emphasis on the development of a safety culture, which we understand much more broadly than formal procedures and requirements – it is the way work is organized and the responsibility of all participants in the construction site. A responsibility in which there is no room for compromise.

The new presidency was taken over by NDI. The symbolic handover of the baton was performed by Tadeusz Blecha, President of HOCHTIEF Polska, and Małgorzata Winiarek-Gajewska, President of NDI. The event was attended by the presidents of the member companies of the Alliance and representatives of industry and public institutions, m.in. GDDKiA, PZPB, CIOP, Bechtel and PZITB. Among the speakers were also Grzegorz Gudzbeler from the Łukasiewicz Research Network, Prof. Maria Kaszyńska and Wiktor Piwkowski.

Term of office of HOCHTIEF Polska in numbers:

  1. 27 project teams
  2. over 1700 hours of work of OHS managers
  3. Over 560 hours of work on standards
  4. 116 safety standards made available to the industry

We remain an active member of the Covenant and will continue to be involved in the development of the initiative, confident that it will be in good hands.

We wish President Małgorzata Winiarek-Gajewska and the entire NDI company good luck in the implementation of further activities and further development of the initiative.

Because Safety begins with the Agreement.
