On 4 June 2008 the topping out ceremony took place in Galeria Malta in Poznań – NEINVER investment whose general contractor is HOCHTIEF Polska Oddział Poz-Building.

Galeria Malta, which will be the biggest shopping and leisure centre in Wielkopolska region, reached its target height – 24 metres. The symbolic topping out ceremony was a closing element of the key stage in the process of project implementation. Now the building is in its raw state; finishing works are to commence soon.
About 500 employees who worked during the construction of Galeria Malta, alongside representatives of: Poznań town hall, the investor, the general contractor and other suppliers, representatives of Galeria Malta tenants as well as of institutions situated in Poznań Malta took part in the topping out ceremony.
The topping out ceremony in a building under construction is a moment of special importance for the whole construction team. It is the tradition of celebrating the completion of raw state of a building. For us, as the general contractor of the building, it is also an opportunity for expressing gratitude towards all the employees who constructed the building for their firm commitment and their work. We are glad to have reached the such a very advanced stage of the construction. There are building installations and finishing works left to be performed which will give the construction its unique character – summed up Sławomir Maciejewski, the Director of the set of contracts in HOCHTIEF Polska Oddział Poz-Building.
It has been exactly a year since Galeria Malta cornerstone ceremony, which took place on 29th May 2007.
Galeria Malta is the largest NEINVER investment in Poland. It has been exactly a year since we met here during the ceremony of laying the foundation stone. Today – after several months of intensive work – Galeria Malta has reached its target height, and within less than a year the residents of Poznań, of the region, and all visitors to Malta will enjoy its wide range of shopping and leisure opportunities. – said Barbara Topolska, the General Manager of NEINVER Polska.
Galeria Malta is being built on a plot of 8 ha. There are about a total of 1 500 people working on its construction and the modernization of nearby road infrastructure. The building will have 153 000 m² of total floor area, on three levels.
In 52 000 m² there will be about 200 shops, commercial outlets, and entertainment areas, including Silver Screen – a multi-screen cinema with ten screening rooms, fitness club Reinhold, supermarket Piotr i Paweł and many recognized Polish and international fashion houses, such as H&M and Royal Collection. Galeria Malta will be an essential point on the map of Poznań and the surrounding area, thanks not only to the wide range of its shopping and leisure opportunities but also to its exceptional location. The Centre is located in the vicinity of Jezioro Maltańskie (Lake Malta), and the character of its architectural design relates the building to the surrounding natural environment. The footbridge over Arcybiskup Baraniak Street, which will link the Gallery with Bulwar Nadmaltański, will facilitate the flow of pedestrians, and will have a special lane for cyclists and roller boarders, which will also directly add to the leisure range of the Malta complex.

Galeria will be put into operation in Spring of 2009.
The architectural design of Galeria Malta has been prepared by two studios: Ewa i Stanisław Sipińscy, Diagram and APA Wojciechowski. The Cushman&Wakefield real estate agency is responsible for the lease of shopping space.
