The construction works will take 21 months

The joint venture of HOCHTIEF Polska, HOCHTIEF Solutions and Warbud (leader) signed a contract for construction of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk. The net contract value amounts to PLN 203,192,400 (approx. EUR 48,7 Mio). The primary scope of works includes construction of the eight-storey museum complex with six underground levels which will occupy a total area of approx. 58,000 square meters. Besides exhibition- museum spaces, the building will also include lecture rooms, a library, conference and cinema facilities as well as archives and warehouses for exhibits.
The complex will also house an office and staff facilities, underground car park as well as cafe and restaurant on the top storey providing view of the Gdansk city. A distinguishing feature of the investment is the 40 metres high museum's tower in a form of a slanting prism based on a triangle. The scope of the works specified by the contract includes structure, facade and finishing works except exhibits and movable furniture. In addition, the JV will implement an electrical and teletechnical installations, fire-fighting systems as well as works of landscape architecture.
Construction works will commence in Q3 2014 and will take 21 months.
