Participation in the biggest investment of this type in Poland, realized in public-private partnership

HOCHTIEF Polska and HOCHTIEF Solutions Branch Civil Engineering and Energy, in a consortium with Hitachi Zosen Inova, signed a contract with SITA Zielona Energia that commissions the companies to perform design and construction works at the municipal incineration plant project in Poznań (ITPOK). The venture is a public-private partnership between the City of Poznań and the private company SITA Zielona Energia. The company SITA Zielona Energia will plan, finance, realise, and next operate over 25 years the municipal incineration plant (ITPOK) with capacity of 210 000 ton yearly. It is the biggest investment of this kind in Poland. Owing to the ITPOK the City of Poznań will fulfil requirements regarding limits of municipal waste on storage yards, with accordance to the Polish and European law.

The scope of the works specified by the contract of the consortium with HOCHTIEF Polska and HOCHTIEF Energy Europe includes designing and erecting the buildings of the facility, its internal road and auxiliary infrastructure as well as the accompanying utility systems. ITPOK is going to be located on the land belonging to the City of Poznań, in a direct neighbourhood of the Karolin CHP plant on an area of approx. 3 hectares. The design work (including the necessary consultations and the official permit process) is scheduled to be commenced in the second quarter of 2013 and is expected to end in the second quarter of 2014. The construction works are planned to start at the turn of the second quarter of 2014. The entire project is supposed to be finalised at the turn of the fourth quarter of 2016.
