HOCHTIEF Polska is proud to announce that it has been selected by PKP Intercity S.A., the leading passenger rail operator in Poland, as the general contractor for an ambitious modernization project in Kraków.
As part of the project, located at the railway siding at ul. Półłanki 1 in Kraków Prokocim, PKP Intercity — our demanding and prestigious Investor — entrusted us with the comprehensive refurbishment of two service and repair halls along with the accompanying track, catenary and utility infrastructure.
The scope of works includes:
✨ modernization of the roofs of both halls, including replacement of the roofing and skylights,
✨ comprehensive refurbishment of interiors — repair pits, track spaces, traversers, and tracks & catenary systems inside and near the halls,
✨ construction of new floors, partition walls, suspended ceilings with insulation, and replacement of windows and doors,
✨ upgrading all utilities: water and sewage, central heating, electrical, mechanical ventilation and a new fire protection system,
✨ modernization of the outdoor areas, including construction of a fire water tank with a pump container and generator, a fire road, and renewal of paved surfaces.
The total floor area of the modernized facilities exceeds 12,900 m², and the scope also includes track and catenary work outside the halls where necessary.
