HOCHTIEF Polska to construct Logistics Center Central Europe in Pniewy, west of Poznań.
The Poznań-based branch of HOCHTIEF Polska was contracted to build a 23,277-square-metre logistics centre for the Japanese automotive corporation.
The project comprises construction of a one-level logistics hall with a two-storey office part of the building and development of roads and yards of an area of 11,190 square metres on the surrounding premises. The terms of the contract require that the value of both investments remain undisclosed. The works will commence in September 2009. The complex is scheduled to be completed in April 2010.
The new logistics facility in Pniewy will be used for operations in Poland, on the territory of the Baltic states and the eastern part of Germany. Honda Logistics Center Central-Europe will contribute to increasing the service level of the spare parts supply chain in the region, supporting the anticipated further growth of their sales.
The site in Pniewy offers a number of advantages to its operator, the main of which, such as good access to key transport routes, favourable trends of growth of the local technological infrastructure and the excellent co-operation with the local community, are already present.
