HOCHTIEF Polska builds a modern plant
On May 6, in Bełchatów, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the construction site of the new DS Smith manufacturing plant in Bełchatów. HOCHTIEF Polska is the general contractor of this investment.
At the commission of DS Smith Polska, a leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly corrugated cardboard packaging, HOCHTIEF Polska will erect a manufacturing and warehouse hall in Bełchatów with adjacent two technical buildings, a boiler room and an office and social building, as well as four other free-standing construction facilities with various functions. The total usable area of the new buildings will amount to nearly 37 thousand square meters. Under the contract, external infrastructure along with parking lots, internal access roads and sidewalks will be executed. Work completion has been scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.
Around 200 people will find employment at the new plant. It will manufacture corrugated cardboard packaging for display and transport purposes, as well as other packaging dedicated to e-commerce and industrial sales.
The manufacturing plant in Bełchatów is not the first project entrusted to HOCHTIEF Polska by DS Smith. Previously, the companies cooperated in connection with the construction of the DS Smith plant in Kutno, and the expansion of the plant in Oława.
