In first place for the realization of two projects: Malopolska's Cogiteon Science Centre in Kraków and the extension of the R&D building in Gdańsk.

HOCHTIEF Polska, one of the leading general contractors in the country, was awarded the main prize in the regional "Build Safely" competition for the construction of the headquarters of the Malopolska Cogiteon Science Centre in Krakow. The construction was thus recognized as the safest in Małopolska.

The event was organized by the Provincial Laboure Inspectorate in cooperation with the Agreement for Safety.  The aim of the competition was to present employers who organize work on a daily basis in a way that ensures the highest level of safety and health protection of employees, as well as exemplary observance of labor laws.

In November this year, the Company also received the award for first place in the same competition only within the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Both construction sites were qualified and nominated for an award in the nationwide Build Safely competition.

Construction of the headquarters of the Malopolska Cogiteon Science Centre began at the end of March 2021. with completion planned for August 2023. As part of the investment, HOCHTIEF Polska will construct a building with a total area of approximately 27,500 square meters and a usable area of nearly 14,100 square meters. It will include exhibition halls, six laboratories and educational studios, a restaurant, conference rooms and an underground car park with the possibility of charging electric cars. At the same time, HOCHTIEF Polska will construct the external infrastructure, including internal roads, cycle paths and parking spaces. On the roof of the building, the first walking garden in Krakow will be created with plants mapping various corners of the world.

The general contractor will use environmentally friendly technological solutions in the facility. A heat pump and partial foundation in the ground will make use of the ground's energy for heating and cooling, while a BMS intelligent building management system will assist in the optimal use of resources.

HOCHTIEF Polska S.A. has had a Health and Safety Management System in place for 13 years. In 2020, the company underwent a health and safety management review, after which changes were made to the system in accordance with ISO 45001:2018. This fact was confirmed by an external audit carried out by a certification company and the receipt of a certificate. HOCHTIEF Polska operates an Integrated Management System, which also includes a Quality Management System based on the ISO 9001 standard and an Environmental Management System based on ISO14001. In October this year, HOCHTIEF Polska was once again awarded the aforementioned certificates. The audit was conducted by the international company BSI Group, which has been providing accredited services in the area of independent and impartial assessment of compliance with accepted standards for many years.
