The construction of the sports facility, that will meet the most sophisticated requirements of UEFA, is to be completed by December 2009.

Design work for the stadium, that will accommodate more than 16 000 spectators, will commence in September 2007. All the stands of the new stadium will be covered.
Within the contract frame new technical and sanitary facilities, changing rooms and a V.I.P. zone will be constructed.
To ensure continuity of football matches during most of the coming seasons the construction of the new stadium will be accomplished in stages. As the construction work progresses, the foundations of the new stadium will be introduced into the partly preserved and existing banks of the current stands.
When the last stage of the construction work is accomplished in December 2009, the single elements of the stadium will be joined into a complete and functional urban complex.

- The construction of the stadium in Lubin is, for our company, the next stage of transformation into a mining-construction business profile company. We wish to benefit from the opportunities created by the sports facilities construction sector for this purpose. We are also pleased to start cooperation with such a renowned business partner as HOCHTIEF. The joining of the potential of the two companies in one consortium, the role and position of PeBeKa on the local market with the experience of HOCHTIEF in the accomplishment of sports facilities, brought great advantages to our offer. We are confident that the project will become, apart from our Warsaw Metro project, a splendid contribution to PeBeKa’s image on the market, this time in the eyes of the very important local community – as Mr Bolesław Gerber, the President of PeBeKa, commented on the conclusion of today’s contract.

- The construction of the Zagłębie Lubin stadium is the first project of this type in Poland in which the companies of the HOCHTIEF group are involved. We are very pleased that we can utilise the ‘know – how’ of the HOCHTIEF syndicate in Poland. The experience gathered by our syndicate during the accomplishment of more than 500 sports facilities all over the world in the last 40 years can contribute a lot into Poland’s preparations for the organisation of Euro 2012 – said Leszek Ceran, the Director of the Infrastructure Branch of HOCHTIEF Polska.

- The design of The Lubin stadium was prepared by the Design Bureau Mierzwa-Architekten from Lipsk in cooperation with HOCHTIEF Sport Facilities, a unit specialising and experienced in the planning and construction of sports facilities. The modern grand stands of the stadium will be made of prefabricated reinforced concrete and covered with steel roofing. The functionally the facility will meet the highest security standards and UEFA requirements for Class 3.
